Das familiengeführte Hotel Ansitz Schulerhof liegt in Plaus bei Naturns, in der Nähe der Kurstadt Meran und am Eingang der beliebten Ferienregion Vinschgau. Unser Hotel Ansitz Schulerhof gehört zu den BikeHotels Südtirol und ist durch seine Lage zwischen Vinschgau und Meraner Land ein Eldorado für Velo-Fans. In der direkten Umgebung des Hotels gibt es zahlreiche Velowege für Genuss-Fahrer oder Rennradler, aber auch aufregende Strecken für Mountainbiker, Touren für E-Biker und rasante Abfahrten für Downhill-Fahrer. Gemeinsam mit der Ötzi Bike Academy bieten wir von März bis November täglich geführte Touren in unterschiedlichen Schwierigkeitsgraden. Außerdem genießen Biker im Schulerhof zahlreiche Extras, wie den hauseigenen Bike-Verleih, die Info-Ecke, einen sicheren Abstellraum, Reparaturmöglichkeiten, Bike-Verpflegung und vieles mehr.
Der Hausherr Thomas Schuler ist nicht nur begeisterter Bergsteiger, sondern auch geprüfter Wanderführer. Gemeinsam mit ihm können Sie 3 Mal pro Woche den Naturpark Texelgruppe, die Berge des Vinschgau oder die urigen Täler Schnals- und Martelltal erkunden. Wanderstöcke und Rucksack können Sie sich kostenlos im Hotel ausleihen. Außerdem bieten wir Wanderern zahlreiche Serviceleistungen, wie täglich aktuelle Wandervorschläge und eine Wander-Jause vom Buffet.
Nach einer langen Wanderung oder einem ausgedehnten Ausflug auf dem Velo gibt es nichts Schöneres, als eine wohltuende Massage oder einen Besuch in der Sauna. It's a lovely hotel. It's quietly located, yet you can get anywhere quickly. The train station is less than 10 minutes away. There are three different seating areas, so it never feels crowded. Breakfast and the salad bar in the evening always look good. All the staff are very attentive. Thanks again for all the ice cubes to cool your face.

A good selection of snacks from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. In the evening, a 6-course menu of excellent quality. Numerous hiking opportunities in the surrounding area. A very quiet location. Good bus and train connections. E-bike rentals are available on site. Guided tours are also available (we really enjoyed the herb hike with Margit).

This family-run hotel with a spa is very charming and well-maintained. The tower pool, garden with loungers and sofas, and internal courtyard where you can dine are beautiful and romantic. Our junior suite was charming and cool, but lacked a bidet (other rooms did have one); a real disappointment for an Italian couple. The dinners included in the 3/4 board are excellent, with unusual flavors and combinations, and a very skilled chef. They offer an appetizer, first course, second course, and dessert (with a few vegetarian options). The dishes aren't abundant, but the menu is generally filling, so portions are more than adequate. One downside is that water isn't included with dinner (I'd expect it to be, since it's not even bottled), costing €4.10 for 0.7L. Friendly staff. The hotel's location is excellent, close to the train station and buses (tickets included in the room rate), in the area of Merano and Forst (where the brewery is also located). There are several walks and trails to explore in the area, both on foot and by bike. Great experience and very relaxing atmosphere.

The room was very clean, except for the makeup stains on the white tissue box and the red stains on the towel. And slippers in the room would have been great. Therefore, one star less.

Wir hatten ein Upgrade, aus welchem Grund auch immer und deshalb eine ausgezeichnetes Zimmer mit wunderschönen Aussicht und Ruhe.

The hotel is a family-run establishment with fantastic modern amenities. Very friendly, competent, and welcoming staff further enhance the stay. The rooms are stylish and fully equipped. The hotel enjoys a quiet yet central location with easy access to public transportation. An Adige Valley Railway station is just a few hundred meters away. Small shops, bars, and a café on the square are nearby. The hotel is largely barrier-free. The food and drinks offered are a modern yet traditional combination, prepared primarily with local ingredients and of exceptionally high quality. A true delight for those who love South Tyrolean cuisine, like us. The spa and fitness facilities are also wonderful and highly recommended. Guided hiking and biking tours are regularly offered for guests by family members and staff, and these are also highly recommended. After a tour, guests can enjoy the delicious food and drinks at a coffee break on the beautifully enclosed terrace in the hotel's courtyard. We were once again more than satisfied. In the summer of 2023, we visited the Schulerhof for two nights during our cycling tour. The location on the Reschen Pass - Lake Garda cycle path is perfect; there's a secure garage with charging facilities for e-bikes and a small workshop for our bikes. Reinhold Messner's Juval Castle is easy to reach and highly recommended.
The media portrays the hotel as a detached house surrounded by greenery, but in reality, it's a village location with densely built-up areas. We expected more authenticity – if you like opulent furnishings, a personal mix of styles, and gold and silver, this is the place for you. A highlight is the house chapel, designed by the senior chef himself.
The food is delicious, very attractively presented, and the courtyard offers a lovely seating area. The wine selection is good. However, charging over four euros for "spring water" is something you should refrain from in this class of hotel. The friendliness is reserved, and the younger generation in particular could do with a bit more service-oriented approach—but the guys are still learning... Overall, the stay was a truly interesting experience. Our 16-year-old daughter loved the tower pool.

Where does one even begin at the Schulerhof? Perhaps with the warm welcome and the upgrade from a single room to a beautiful suite. Not really necessary – but still lovely. Otherwise, the food is incredibly good, and you look forward to choosing the courses for dinner each morning. But first, you enjoy breakfast with everything your heart could desire. And when you return from a bike ride or hike, you can enjoy an afternoon snack. That alone makes it good to get plenty of exercise. The garden and the tower pool are absolutely stunning, you can relax in the sauna, and everything else has been thought of – including the high-quality daypack in the room. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality and the fantastic stay!
The Schulerhof Estate is a cozy, enchanting hotel with beautiful rooms. It features a spa area and a brand-new terrace pool where you can relax. The host family, including the entire staff, is very friendly. The cuisine is excellent. Every day, you receive the morning post with hiking suggestions, the weather forecast, and menu suggestions for the evening with matching wines. We have enjoyed coming here for years and highly recommend the hotel.
We spent two wonderful weeks at the Schulerhof in May for the fourth time. Everything is perfect here: very nice house, everything is lovingly prepared, super clean, the Schuler family and their entire team are very friendly and welcoming, the food is excellent, you can relax in the beautiful courtyard and garden, we don't miss anything! In addition, there is the convenient location for fantastic hikes of varying difficulty or a trip to Meran and Bolzano. Almost everything is possible without a car. The house hikes and herb hikes offered are also highly recommended. We always enjoy coming back and can only recommend the Schulerhof!!
The hotel is very well maintained and everything is extremely clean. You feel welcome in an attentive family business. The food is very good. The hotel has a beautiful courtyard. There is enough parking space. There are probably also newer rooms, but we had an Alpine Flair Suite. This is a dark room with carpeted floors and a bathroom that is aging and in need of renovation. The very first glimpse of the fairytale-like Schulerhof Hotel upon arrival promises everything you would expect from a dream stay. From the warm welcome to the wistful farewell at the end of the holiday, everything is just right. I can only confirm what has been said in the numerous reviews: a holiday at the Schulerhof is a single highlight; to list everything would go beyond the scope of this format. It is especially the many little things that make the stay so pleasant: the warm personal care of the entire Schuler family, the extremely friendly staff in all areas, a gifted chef whose evening menus are already available to choose from in the daily farm post in the morning, along with lots of other helpful and useful information, including information on the activities offered by the hotel. Where else does the chef go hiking with his guests? He takes the time, no matter how small the group. He describes "his South Tyrol" as a "walking encyclopedia." There are many more things that make the schoolyard a very special place, one that invites you to come back. For us, it was the seventh time in May, and there will be more, which we are already looking forward to.

The Ansitz Schulerhof is an exceptionally charming hotel with beautiful rooms and a spa area, as well as exceptionally friendly service in every respect. First time at this hotel. We had a great time. The staff was friendly and the room was spacious and clean. The bed comfort could be improved a bit, but it wasn't a problem. All the food was excellent, served with attention to detail. The afternoon buffet was wonderful (not overwhelming in quantity, but quality is what matters). There was a wide selection of complimentary herbal teas.

Man ist immer wieder gerne Gast in diesem Hotel. Fühlt sich Willkommen, man kennt sich auch noch nach Corona-Pausen. Das Essen ist sehr gut und abwechslungsreich .Gute Lage, nicht im Trubel ,aber doch schnell in Meran. Kleine Wellnessanlage, aber für uns welche unterwegs sind genügt es vollkommen.
Es war alles super ,Personal ,Räumlichkeiten ,einfach alles ein Traum ,würde ich jeden empfehlen ,fahren bestimmt wieder hin .einfach top 👍👍👍🤗🤗
Das freundliche, immer hilfsbereite Personal. Das Haus strahlt eine Wohlfühlatmosphäre aus, die man schon beim Betreten des Hotels verspürt. Alle Familienmitglieder arbeiten in einer Weise zusammen, die man heute kaum noch findet. Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl und als Gäste sehr willkommen. Zu erwähnen ist auch das äußerst reichhaltige Frühstücksbuffet und das hervorragende mehrgängige Abendessen, welches sehr abwechslungsreich und ernährungsphysiologisch besonders ausgeglichen war. Sämtliche Services waren in der Tat überdurchschnittlich!

We had a wonderful stay at the Schulerhof. The hotel is ideally located for excursions and hikes, all in a quiet setting (of course, you sometimes need to use a car or public transport). The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very well-maintained and clean. We used the tower pool every day after returning to the hotel. Fantastic! Oh yes, the food was excellent, from the breakfast buffet to dinner. There were also sweet and savory snacks available in the afternoon.

A vacation at the Schulerhof is always a pleasure! Unfortunately, I was only there for four days, but it was very relaxing. I'm already looking forward to returning next year. This time, thanks to Sky Alps, the journey was also very comfortable. I highly recommend flying (e.g., from Düsseldorf) to anyone who doesn't have much vacation time but still really wants to go to the Schulerhof (like me).
All the staff, especially the owner family, were very helpful and kind. Exceptional breakfast, wide choice and quality. Good dinner.
They are well organised, they have a nice spa, good at giving massages and treatments, an indoor swimming pool with sauna and relaxation area. The outdoor swimming pool is surrounded by a beautiful landscape. We spend relaxing holidays. I would happily return.

From the warm welcome and the answering of any questions ;) to the daily activities offered (guided hikes, wine tastings) with Chef Thomas, to a pure feel-good atmosphere and relaxation in the spa area, there's always something going on at the Schulerhof.
In the kitchen, they don't cook, they conjure up magic. You won't find such great, high-quality food anywhere else. Special requests are also catered to.
We stayed at the hotel for a week over New Year's Eve and can only say thank you again for the wonderful vacation and will definitely visit this hotel again.

We've been guests at the Schulerhof for 15 years, and that fact speaks for itself. Everything is just right here: delicious food with consistently excellent wine pairings, chic yet cozy rooms, a beautiful ambiance, and a very warm atmosphere. The new tower pool is the icing on the cake. Since we discovered the Schulerhof, every other hotel has to measure up to it!
We stayed at the Schulerhof for a long weekend.
We give 5 stars for the hospitality of the Schuler family and their team. We felt completely at home, whether relaxing in the tower pool, enjoying the wonderful atmosphere in the hotel courtyard, or enjoying the relaxing beauty and massage treatments.
We were also delighted by the culinary delights from the Schulerhof kitchen, the wine recommendations selected by host Thomas, and the very attentive service. Nothing was left to be desired!
All in all, we were thrilled with the hotel, but especially with the people at the Schulerhof. Thank you so much for that! We will definitely be back!

The children love the indoor pool and the herb walk with Margit. At the weekly wine tasting in the beautiful cellar, Thomas Schuler always presents South Tyrolean classics as well as new wines with interesting background information. It's also a great place for hikers and bikers, with perfectly tailored tour suggestions and tips! We're all looking forward to our next vacation. :-)

A great starting point for bikers of all kinds to explore the Vinschgau Valley and the entire region. Very friendly staff, fantastic food with select regional ingredients. And then there are those little details that let you know someone has put some thought into it. A basket with chain rags in the lockable bike room, for example. Or a ceiling design above the bed that's only visible once you've turned out the light. Or individual tour suggestions for gravel bikes. For us, it was three days in paradise, and we recommend this hotel and the people behind it without reservation!

Food: Excellent, without any artificial flavor enhancers, yet still very tasty and beautifully presented. The breakfast, afternoon, and evening buffets leave nothing to be desired. Ambience: Very clean, spacious room, large bathroom, everything arranged and decorated with attention to detail. Wellness: Everything is very clean and beautifully designed. Very inviting, and there's now also an outdoor hot pool. Highly recommended after a hike. The owners and staff make guests feel welcome and strive to pamper them every day.

It's superfluous to describe the beauty that surrounds you in the Venosta Valley, of which this hotel is a charming gem. Spacious and welcoming rooms, friendly and attentive staff, and the owners are welcoming and attentive. Numerous activities, such as excursions and tastings, are offered. Sommelier Thomas will illustrate a splendid selection of high-quality South Tyrolean wines. Being a bike hotel is an added bonus: you can book bicycles of all types, including pedal-assisted ones, with delivery directly to the hotel. Plaus's location allows us to reach the center of Merano in just a few kilometers via a scenic, safe bike path for shopping and sightseeing. And if you're looking for a more relaxed ride, the Venosta Valley train takes you back to within a few meters of the hotel. The valley also boasts several cable cars for Downing enthusiasts and for high-altitude hikes amidst nature... in short, Venosta Valley and Hotel Shulerhof are a winning combination.

Das gesamte Paket aus familiärer Betreuung, perfekten Mahlzeiten und das stimmige Ambiente in den Zimmern, im Restaurant und im Innnenhof passen perfekt zu einem erholsamen Urlaub. Die geführte Wanderung durch den Chef Thomas Schuler, die gut gewarteten Fahrräder und die jederzeit mit Rat und Tat zur Seite stehenden Mitarbeiter des Hotels machten den Aufenthalt überaus angenehm.
Das Hotel hat einen einzigartigen Charme, wunderschön uns stilvoll mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Die Holzeinrichtung mit dem Zirbenduft ist ein zusätzlicher Augenschmeichler. Der Innenhof ist ein abendlicher Genuss und passt perfekt zu dem kulinarischen Verwöhnprogramm. Die ganze Gartengestaltung ist so schön, dass ein Relaxen zum Hochgenuss wird. Die Gastgeberfamilie strahlt eine ruhige Herzlichkeit aus und ist feinfühlig im Umgang mit ihren Gästen. Dieser Kurzurlaub war einmalig und auf jeden Fall wiederholungsbedürftig!

Das Essen war super. Lecker und reichlich. Die Fahrräder, die man kostenlos ausleihen konnte, waren spitze! Das Personal und die Familie Schuler sind super nett. Die Zimmer sind schön eingerichtet und absolut ruhig. Preis-Leistung stimmt! Wir kommen gerne wieder.

Es hat uns wunderbar gefallen. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich. Die Wandertipps sehr gut ausgewählt. Das Essen perfekt. Wir haben keine Beanstandungen und werden sicherlich wieder kommen.
Alles, aber ganz besonders hervorzuheben sind die phänomenale Küche und der unaufdringliche und trotzdem aufmerksame Service beim Essen.

It's a very nice hotel, the staff are incredibly friendly and accommodating. The food is simply superb, and you receive a very warm welcome, so you immediately feel very comfortable. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to be pampered.
